Panini has been printing Minecraft cards since 2020, but the line changed character with the 2024 release and again with the 2025 Special Edition. Those two brought serialised parallels, hobby configurations and one-of-ones, which turned Minecraft from a set you completed into one you chase. This guide covers both in detail, with the full parallel ladders and print runs, and orients you on the earlier sets.

The 2024 release was Minecraft's biggest step into serious collecting, and the first with wide United States retail distribution. Alongside the base cards it introduced a deep parallel ladder and two chase inserts: Color Blast, full-art treatments of the main characters and the Ender Dragon, and Milestone, dated cards marking major updates in Minecraft's history. The thematic subsets are worth knowing too, since they change how the binder works: Crafting Chronicles cards align into a 3x3 page that shows how to craft an item, Tour of Minecraft runs postcard-style biome cards, and Achievements covers in-game milestones.
This is where the 2024 set gets interesting, and also where it gets intricate. Rarity spreads across several foil technologies rather than one clean ladder, and two tiers exist twice over: there are two different /10 cards and two different /1 cards, distinguished by whether PRIZM is printed on the back. Worth knowing before you assume a duplicate is a duplicate.

The 2025 Special Edition keeps the same core checklist and artwork and reworks the scarcity underneath it. Every card carries an SE stamp, and the headline change is that the base card itself is now serialised to 325. In the 2024 set scarcity lived in the parallels; here it starts at the floor. The parallel ladder above it is simpler too, a single clean run rather than several competing foil branches. The Color Blast insert returns with an Obsidian treatment, swapping the white background for black.

Two insert runs sit outside the parallel ladder, and they are where a lot of the collector attention goes. Color Blast takes the main characters and the Ender Dragon and gives them full-art, vividly stylised treatments borrowed from Panini's sports design language, and they look like nothing else in the set. Milestone is the other one: dated cards marking the big moments in Minecraft's development, from the Adventure Update through Caves and Cliffs and Trails and Tales. Neither is serial numbered, so scarcity comes from how short-packed they are rather than a printed run, and both are catalogued individually so you can track a full insert run on its own.
They reward different tastes rather than one being better. The 2024 set offers more variety, with several foil technologies and PRIZM branches to build rainbows from, and its lower tiers are more plentiful. The 2025 Special Edition is tighter and more serial-driven: a numbered floor, a single ladder, and a clearer sense of exactly how many exist at every step. If you like assembling every finish of a card, 2024 gives you more to find. If you want defined scarcity on everything you own, 2025 is the cleaner product.
Panini's Minecraft line started in 2020 and ran for several years before the recent releases, and those sets are collected the way sticker albums are collected: by working through a big, generous checklist rather than chasing serial numbers. Minecraft Adventure came first with panorama, glow-in-the-dark and 3D cards. Time To Mine added metallic and mirror foils across a wide spread of card types. A serialised ladder is the kind of thing that gets hard to hold in your head once you are a few tiers in. Every parallel is catalogued as its own entry, so marking a Gold Foil leaves the Gold PRIZM still open and completion counts the exact tier you own. Record the serial numbers on your numbered cards, keep a want list for the tiers you are missing, and the dashboard shows how the rainbow is filling in next to the rest of your collection.
