The Project Hail Mary Trading Card Mini Set is a licensed Cardsmiths release built around the film adaptation, following teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace on a mission to save Earth. It is a small, tightly built set, and it works differently from most: a single pack holds the complete ten-card base set, so the collecting starts above the base list rather than with it. The base set is ten Collector Cards spotlighting characters, moments and iconography from the film, from the Hail Mary itself to the mission patch and 40 Eridani. Every pack contains twelve cards: the full set of ten, plus one Rainbow Holofoil and one serial-numbered Gemstone Refractor. That guarantee is the unusual part. Completing the base checklist is a given, so the interesting question is which two extras you drew on top.
Two things, and one of each comes in every pack. The Rainbow Holofoil is a full parallel of the base list. The Gemstone Refractor is the serial-numbered chase, running the same gemstone naming Cardsmiths uses across its other lines, from Beryl at the accessible end down to the one-of-one Onyx at the top. With ten designs across each tier, a complete gemstone run is a defined target rather than an open-ended hunt.

The set carries twelve gemstone tiers on top of the base and Rainbow Holofoil layers, each covering all ten designs, and the print runs match the ladder Cardsmiths uses across its other lines. Blue Topaz at 199 copies is the accessible end and Onyx is the one-of-one, so ten people will ever hold an Onyx from this set. With fixed runs and ten designs per tier, a complete tier is a countable target.

Ten designs makes some real goals achievable here. The base set comes in a single pack, and a full Rainbow Holofoil run is a genuine target since it is not serialised. Among the gemstones the larger runs are worth chasing, where a Blue Topaz or Beryl set is a matter of patience. Higher up the ladder it stops being a completion question: a full run of Sapphire means owning ten cards that exist in five copies each, and a full Onyx run means owning every one-of-one in the set, which realistically will never sit in one collection. Those tiers are single-card chases, not sets. Mark what you pull and completion fills in per tier, record the serial numbers on your Gemstone Refractors, and keep a want list for the tiers you are actually working on. Browse the card list.
HoloHoard estimates a daily value for cards with enough market activity behind them and totals your collection from those, holding each tier separately so a Ruby and its base card are never blended. On a licensed set this size the market is thinner than for a mainline release, so cards without enough data show as not valued yet rather than a made-up number.
