Guide
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles joined UniVersus on August 15, 2025, and it is a real card game set rather than a licensed novelty. Two things make it worth a collector's attention: the Chrome Rares are serial numbered and capped at 100 copies each, and one subset of the alternate arts is printed in UV reactive ink that glows under a black light. If you have arrived from the comics or the toys, the useful thing to know first is that UniVersus is one game across every licence it prints, so these Turtles cards are legal alongside the fighting game sets.
264 cards in this set, catalogued and ready to track.

The base checklist runs to 186, and then it keeps going: the alternate arts carry on from 187/186 upward, and the Chrome Rares and the Retro subset are numbered separately again. That is why the count below is larger than the 180-odd the box advertises. Cards counts every distinct card we hold, printings counts every version of them, and both refresh daily as the catalogue fills in.
UniVersus builds a deck around a character card, and this set prints fifteen playable ones. All four turtles get their own: Leonardo the leader, Raphael the muscle, Donatello the smart one, Michelangelo the wild card. Around them sit Splinter, April O'Neil, Bebop, Rocksteady, Superfly, Bishop, Leatherhead, Metalhead, Wingnut, Mega Mutant, and a team card that fields the Turtles together. Character cards come in both foil and regular printings, so owning one is not the same as owning the one collectors want.
UniVersus does not run a full serial numbered ladder the way a scarcity line does, so rarity carries most of the weight, and the spread below is where the money actually sits. These are medians across everything priced in each band, so a thin band moves more than a deep one.

Median of the priced cards in each rarity, with the typical range in brackets, built from the 258 of 281 cards in this set that currently carry a value. Estimates are blended from real market activity, not appraisals, and a rarity with only a few priced cards is a thinner signal than one with many.
UniVersus market overviewThere are eight of them: Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Bebop, Rocksteady, Superfly and Splinter. UVS Games put the run at 100 copies of each with no reprints, which makes them the clearest chase in the set. The serial is printed on the card, so check it before you trade one: the number is most of the argument for the price.
The easy assumption is that alternate art means top rarity. Here it does not. Alt arts appear at several levels, from the commons right up to the secret rares, which means a cheap card can have an expensive twin and the two sit almost identically in a binder. Check the rarity on the card, not the artwork.

The Ooze Treatment subset is printed with UV reactive neon green ink over bold black and white artwork, so the cards look one way on the table and another under a black light. It is the most distinctive thing the set does, and it is the reason a scan never quite sells one: you have to see it switch. If you are buying unseen, ask the seller which treatment they actually have.
A separate Retro run leans on the 1987 cartoon and the old action figures, and its character card anchors the starter deck if you want a ready made way in rather than a box. For collecting purposes the Retro cards behave like their own small set inside the set, which is worth knowing before you assume a checklist is complete.
UniVersus has run since 2006, first as Universal Fighting System, and every set is cross compatible. A Turtles deck can face a Tekken deck. For a collector that means demand for these cards is not limited to people who care about TMNT, and it is why a licensed set here behaves differently from a one off crossover product elsewhere.
