Cardsmiths took a booth to Comic-Con International in San Diego from July 22 to 26, 2026, and the Currency Convention Exclusive Refractor Pack led what they brought. The cards themselves carry Summer Convention Exclusive 2026 branding rather than a show name, so they are the kind of thing that turns up wherever Cardsmiths sets up over a summer. All 36 of them are now catalogued on HoloHoard with front and back artwork, which means the full checklist and every print run behind it can finally be read in one place.

Cardsmiths worked Booth #2445 for the run of the convention. The Currency Convention Exclusive Refractor Pack headlined, and the company framed the show as a direct line to collectors. "Comic-Con International is one of our favorite opportunities to connect directly with collectors and bring them products they can't find anywhere else," said Steve Loney, Co-Founder and CEO of Cardsmiths. The booth also carried franchise exclusives outside the Currency line, including a Rocky 50th Anniversary card serialised to 1,976 for the film's release year, a Japanese-language Street Fighter Alpha card, and Cold Foil promos for Currency and Betty Boop. Those sit outside HoloHoard's catalogue, so the rest of this post sticks to the Currency cards, which are all catalogued.
Each pack holds a single card, and it resolves one of three ways: one of the five Convention Exclusive Refractor designs, an unnumbered Base Refractor, or a random insert. The five convention designs are numbered CX-1 through CX-5. Here are the first three:
This is what makes the release worth cataloguing properly rather than treating as a handful of show giveaways. Each of the five CX designs exists as an unnumbered Holofoil plus six serialised Gemstone Refractors, on the same ladder the main Currency series uses. That is 106 numbered copies of every design, so 530 serialised convention cards across the five, sitting above an unnumbered Holofoil layer. The Onyx tier means there is exactly one of each design in the world.
| Treatment | Print run | Cards |
|---|---|---|
| Holofoil (Base Refractor) | Unnumbered | 5 |
Silver | /50 | 5 |
Ruby | /25 | 5 |
Aquamarine | /15 | 5 |
Gold | /10 | 5 |
Sapphire | /5 | 5 |
Onyx | /1 | 5 |
Alongside the five CX designs sits a sixth convention card, P-8, numbered into the general promo sequence rather than the CX run. It is catalogued in Holofoil only, which makes it the one card in the release with no gem ladder above it. That brings the release to 36 catalogued cards: 35 CX cards across the seven treatments, plus P-8.
The random inserts are the second chase in the product, and this is where a convention pack starts behaving like a main-series one. Currency 5 Sol parallels, serialised to 3, are included randomly, and select packs carry Currency Series 5 Gemstone Refractors. Diamonds, the one-of-one tier, are findable here too, which is a departure worth noting: the Diamond Refractor has historically been handed out by Cardsmiths on special occasions rather than packed out. Above all of it sit Cryptocurrency Redemption Cards, which Cardsmiths says are redeemable for hits of up to 0.1 Bitcoin. The redemption cards are not catalogued on HoloHoard yet.
This is not the first time Cardsmiths has made something specifically for the show. The 2025 Comic-Con exclusive promo, P-6, is already in the Currency promo checklist, and the line has a broader run of event cards behind it. If you are working through the promos, the convention cards are worth treating as their own sub-chase rather than loose singles.
Six designs across seven treatments is exactly the kind of checklist that gets lost in a camera roll after a show. Every convention exclusive card is on HoloHoard with its artwork and its print run: mark what you pulled, record the serial numbers on your numbered copies, and build a wishlist for the tiers you are still chasing. If you came home from the convention with a stack of these, an hour of logging now is the difference between a collection and a shoebox.
