Life TCG's Mammals Special Edition is live and fully catalogued on HoloHoard, artwork and all. The set revives favourite designs from the original 1st Edition and layers on new cards, new art, and a new gameplay mechanic. It also carries the game's most dramatic chase yet: seven Continent cards, each with a holographic one-of-one somewhere in the wild. The full card list is on HoloHoard.
The centrepiece of the set is the Continent cycle: seven illustrated cards, one per continent, that drive the new Continental Balance mechanic. Roughly one pack in five carries a Continent card, so a playset is a realistic goal, and deck builders will want the full seven since the mechanic revolves around them. One of the seven is already off the board. The Asia one-of-one holo has been pulled, and huge congratulations to the collector who found it. That leaves six Continent one-of-ones still out there in packs. Here is Asia alongside two of its siblings whose holo one-of-ones remain unclaimed:
Mammals SE spans seven card types: original 1st Edition holographics (now officially catalogued), SE Holos exclusive to this set, limited Promo Set Holos, full-bleed SE Extended art cards, and the SE Rare, Uncommon, and Common backbone. Alongside the set, Life TCG has switched from plastic to paper packaging in partnership with WWF-UK. For a game whose holographic print runs mirror real-world populations of endangered animals, plastic-free packs are a fitting step, and one the team had been working toward for a while.
