The galleon San José was a Spanish treasure ship that sank off the coast of Colombia in 1708 during a naval battle. It is believed to contain a vast treasure of gold, silver, and emeralds, estimated to be worth between $17 billion and $20 billion. The shipwreck was discovered in 2015, and its recovery has been the subject of legal disputes between Colombia and Spain.
