The Brasher Doubloon, considered one of the most valuable and historically significant coins in American numismatics, was minted in 1787 by New York goldsmith and silversmith Ephraim Brasher. In 2021, the finest example of the seven known Brasher Doubloons, set a record for a gold coin sold in a public auction, for $9.36 million.
