Iconic gold coin engraved by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the $20 Double Eagle was produced from 1907 to 1933. The coin depicts Lady Liberty holding a torch and olive branch with the Capitol building in the background on the obverse, and a flying eagle on the reverse. Many of these gold coins were recalled and melted down during the Great Depression, making surviving specimens particularly valuable.
