Genghis Khan was the first ruler of the Mongol Empire. During his reign from 1206 to 1227, Khan conquered most of what is modern-day China, Korea, Southeast Asia, and Russia, making him the owner of more real estate than anyone else in history. After his death, Genghis Khan's descendants even expanded the empire into Persia and the Middle East, as well as parts of Eastern Europe.
