Founded in 1984 by James McCurry and Gary Kusin, Babbage's was a software retailer best known for selling PCs and video games for consoles such as the Atari, SEGA, and the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). By 1994, Babbage's operated over 300 stores in the United States. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Babbage's eventually became the video game retailer known today as GameStop.
