Born in 1850, Mary Paley Marshall was a British economist and author. As one of the very first females permitted to study at the prestigious Cambridge University, Marshall was later invited back to Cambridge to lecture decades before women were allowed to vote in the UK. Together, she and her husband, Alfred Marshall, are considered some of the most influential economists of all time.
