Sam Bankman-Fried, or "SBF", was the founder of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange that filed for bankruptcy in 2022. Before being indicted in the U.S. on charges such securities fraud, money laundering, and wire fraud, SBF did hold the distinction of being a Fortune 400 member of the richest people on the planet. Bankman-Fried was also said to have led a very "interesting" social life.
