Fusaichi Pegasus, a celebrated racehorse, gained fame for winning the Kentucky Derby in 2000. Purchased as a yearling for $4 million by Fusao Sekiguchi, Fusaichi Pegasus earned nearly $2 million in his racing career and later set a record sale at auction, $70 million, becoming one of the most expensive stud horses with an initial stud fee of $150,000.
