The Black Lotus holds the distinction as being one of the most (if not the most) expensive non-sports CCG game cards in the world. First appearing in the limited edition MTG "Alpha" set, the "power" of this card was quickly recognized by players and subsequently banned from official play within a few years. Highly graded copies of this card have sold for as much as $3 million dollars at auction.
