Publick Occurrences both Foreign and Domestick was the first multipage newspaper published in Colonial America. Published in 1690 by Benjamin Harris, it was promptly shut down after its first issue by the Governor of Massachusetts for failing to obtain a printing license and containing what the government thought were "sundry doubtful and uncertain Reports."
