Blue diamonds are the most expensive gemstones in the world on a per carat basis. One of the most famous blue diamonds is the "Oppenheimer Blue," Named for its previous owner, Philip Oppenheimer, the 14.62-carat vivid blue diamond was sold at Christie's in New York in 2016 for over approximately $58 million.
