One of the most expensive bottles of wine ever sold, the 1947 French Cheval-Blanc sold at Christies in 2010 for $304,375. The Saint-Emilion vintage is one of only two to receive class A status. This is a remarkable achievement given that 1947 was considered a bad year for Bordeaux region wines due to the effect that extremely high temperatures had on the grape crop that year.
